Makcu Controller
A MAKCU or MAKXD with controller firmware passes your controller through to the console, and Moonlight adds its stick output on the way.
Makcu Controller is a MAKCU or MAKXD running firmware that passes a controller through to the console. Moonlight talks to it over its data USB cable and adds its stick output to yours.
#What you need
- MAKCU firmware V19 or newer, or MAKXD firmware V13 or newer.
- The device's data USB cable connected to the Moonlight PC.
- On a PS5, a USB hub and a PS5mate or P5General.
#Wire it
- PS5: plug a USB hub into the MAKCU's device port. Plug your controller and the PS5mate or P5General into the hub.
- Everything else is wired the same way as MAKCU's own setup guide.
#In Moonlight
- Close MAKCU Toolkit. It holds the device while it is open.
- In Input Device, set Output to Makcu Controller. Moonlight finds its COM port by itself.
- In the Controller Setup card, set Controller layout to the controller you plugged in (Xbox 360 by default). It sets the button names for the Aim, Flick, Trigger and ADS binds; it does not change the firmware or the console output.
- If it does not respond, Log MAKCU Health writes the firmware's status to the log for support.
Then set up the game and Moonlight's controller settings: Tune aim for a controller.
#If something goes wrong
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| "No MAKCU USB serial interface detected" | Check the data USB cable goes to the Moonlight PC. |
| "MAK_API controller not detected" | Update to MAKCU V19 or MAKXD V13 or newer, and check the right COM port is in use. |
| "Physical snapshot unavailable" | The firmware is too old or no controller is passing through. Update the firmware, and check the controller is plugged in (on a PS5, through the hub). |
| "Controller route changed; stop and restart Moonlight" | Press Stop, then Start. |
