Console setup

The console runs the game. A Windows PC next to it runs Moonlight Console: it reads the picture, finds targets and adds its stick output to your controller. Moonlight does not run on the console.

You need three things:

• A Windows PC for Moonlight. Getting started covers installing and signing in.
• A way to get the picture to that PC.
• A way to get the controller output back to the console.

#Pick a route

On a PS5, start with PS5 Remote Play. It carries the picture and the controller over one connection, so you can try Moonlight without buying any hardware. Move to a capture card later if you want the lowest delay.

On an Xbox, use a capture card and a controller adapter.

#The picture

• PS5 Remote Play: over your home network, no hardware.
• Capture card: the card sits between the console and your TV. A Magewell Pro Capture card works too.

#The order to set it up

1. Install Moonlight on the PC and sign in to the Console edition. Getting started, steps 1 and 2.
2. Set up the picture and check it shows in the Live Preview.
3. Set up the controller output and check the stick moves on the console.
4. Set the game up and match Moonlight to it: Tune aim for a controller.
5. Press Start Moonlight and test in a private match or practice mode. Change one setting at a time.
